3Com Consultant Engineer David Law was recently voted chair of the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet Standards working Group

David Law, a Consultant Engineer at 3Com, previously served as the vice-chair for the IEEE 802.3 working group since 1996. He currently serves as a member of the Ethernet Alliance Board of Directors and chair of the IEEE-SA review committee.

David has also served as editor and chair of multiple IEEE 802.3 task force projects, and served as a member of the IEEE-SA patent committee, procedures committee and standards board. In 2000, Law received the IEEE-SA Standards Medallion for 'Leadership and Technical Contributions to Ethernet Networking Standards.'
